Welcome to Wilberforce Road Sports Ground, home of Cambridge City Hockey Club.   

The last few years have been difficult for many of us, but at CCHC, we have been focusing on helping people get back onto the pitch. That has included organising a number of summer leagues with other local clubs, developing our Youth Section (now well over 450 members between the ages of 4 and 18) and promoting Back-to-Hockey, Walking Hockey and Flyerz. It is fantastic to see so many people playing hockey again!

The start of a new year brings a change of personnel to the City bench. We welcome new manager Nikki Tuff to the club and hope that she enjoys the success that Chris did at the end of his stint as manager.  Nikki brings with her a wealth of experience from Chelmsford where she was their women’s 1s manger for a number of years.

City will be looking to build on the excellent form they exhibited before the winter break. They picked up all of their points to date in their last 3 matches which included pushing second placed Barnes all the way, narrowly losing in the dying minutes. They will be aiming to avenge the 4-1 loss away in Kent in the first game of the season which was a real learning experience for the new members of the team. Canterbury will be hoping to achieve their first away win of the season and will need to improve their form on the road if they want to lead the chase of the table toppers.  This promises to be an very close and exciting match.
