What a fantastic accomplishment for @cchcuk U12 girls who are East Regional Champions and qualify to represent the East at the National Finals. Congratulations to Jess (GK), Lois, Arabella (C), Naiara, Saskia, Georgie, Lily, Aoife, Eve, & Laya 🏆🥇
The first match in the group stage was against Old Loughts and was a thriller with chances at either end. Jess made some awesome saves that kept CCHC in the game! Result 1 - 1. Next up were Dereham. CCHC took an early lead, but unfortunately lost 1 - 3.
During the break, the girls took the opportunity to refresh and reflect on the positives and the things they needed to do better! And a game of splat !!
The girls had to win their next game against Sudbury if they wanted to progress to the semis!! An impressive improvement by the girls saw them score 9 goals. The win boosted confidence and belief, and they finished the group stage with high scoring victories against St Albans & Bedford.
Next up was the SF! This was a local derby against Cambridge Juniors! A short break gave everyone time to refocus and agree tactics for the game ahead. The girls showed great strength in both their play and attitude to win a tight contest 1-0 and qualify for the final, where they faced Dereham again.
The final was thrilling and full of nail bitting moments. At the full time whistle the scores were level at 1-1, and everything came down to penalty shuffles. Well done to Arabella, Aoife & Saskia for stepping up to take them 💪 Some very cool shuffles and amazing keeping from Jess took it to sudden death......Jess saved 🎉 Champions 🏆 🏅
