Cambridge City Hockey Club (CCHC) is the leading hockey club in Cambridgeshire with 450 members, including 300 juniors. The club runs weekly junior and mini hockey sessions, taking children from age 5 upwards; and fields 5 men’s and 4 ladies’ teams at weekends during the playing season. The men’s 1st XI plays in the National England Hockey League and the ladies 1st XI has plans to join them. The other teams compete in the Eastern Hockey League, represented by the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
The club has Sport England’s Clubmark accreditation, recognising Cambridge City Hockey Club as providing a ‘safe, effective and child friendly’ club environment. Cambridge City Hockey Club also regularly contributes players to regional and national representative squads.
